Please, listen to this song called "Santa Monica" from the game's soundtrack while reading my review, its melody is breathtaking and describes the story of the main character so well, by the way this song is from the band Theory of a Deadman!

Synopsis (with no spoilers):
The story begins in New York “Where else could it happen? ...in the capital of the universe” (Quote from the main character). Lucas Kane, while being possessed, stabs a man in a bathroom of a diner and flees the crime scene before the police arrives. He didn’t know why this happen, but was determined to find the reason behind the mysterious deaths that, as Lucas found out, occurred many times before in the past with the victims dying from a ritualistic and methodical stab in several parts of their bodies. As the police also investigated further, focusing on the two partnership detectives, Carla Valenti and Tyler Miles, they were able to connect the diner’s crime scene to Lucas and begin to keep track on him. Without being able to show that he is innocent to the people around him, can Lucas Kane be able to discover the source of this evil mastermind that is taking control over him or will he succumb to the desires of this malicious force…

“Things are never quite what they seem. We think we understand the world around us but we really only see the outside. What it seems to be. I used to be just like you. I believed in humanity, the newspapers, soap commercials, politics and even history books. One day the world kicks you in the teeth and you don’t have any choice but to see things the way they really are. My name is Lucas Kane. My story is the one where an ordinary guy has something extraordinary happen to him. Maybe it was supposed to happen. Maybe it was my destiny or my karma or whatever. I know one thing for sure... nothings ever going to be the same again”

Review:
Gameplay - I’m going to begin with this topic, because besides the narration of the game being quite unique, the gameplay was also something that gamers don’t usually see in videogames anymore. Farenheit is generally based on choices that determines the development of the main story, every choice you make has consequences, so choose very wisely! Quick times events are a very common thing, used mostly on combat (that sometimes can be very annoying, especially by the end of game), if you fail this time events, one life will be consumed (the lifes of the character appear as white circle dots on top of the screen, each dot representing a crucifix that you can gain during the game to get an extra life). Another thing that stood out was that each character you play has a “mental health” perimeter and, based on your actions, it can go up or down, but if it reaches zero, the character can either commit suicide or have a “bad ending”.

Quick time events in the center of the screen, the “lifes” of the character are on top of the screen
Characters - The game presents us three main playable characters: Lucas Kane (main protagonist of the game, works as an I.T manager and head of computer maintenance for the Naser & Jones Bank); Carla Valenti (a police officer and detective of the NYPD) and Tyler Miles (that has the same career/occupation as his work partner, Carla). There are other characters that stand out during the game, respectively, Markus Kane (a Catholic priest and Luca’s older brother); Tiffany Harper (Luca’s ex-girlfriend); Agatha (a psychic that Lucas visits for help)…

Agatha’s house
Choices = Variety - As I mentioned earlier, the decisions we make during the gameplay affect greatly the story's course and because of that, there are a total of three different endings (a Good ending, Orange clan ending and a Purple clan ending), I’m not going to explain them, because I don’t want to reveal too much spoilers for you!

Environment - There are too many places in the game to explore, everytime you change to another character to play, the scenery also changes. One thing that almost all the environments have in common is that they are mysterious, dark and ambiguous.

Second crime scene present in the game (Possessed Lucas kills again)
Specials - During the game you can collect cards that unlock bonuses in the game (for example, in music, gallery and videos). Farenheit also includes in the soundtrack four amazing music’s of the remarkable band “Theory of a Deadman”: “Santa Monica”, “Say Goodbye”, “No way out” and “No Surprise” (all present in the same album’s band “Gasoline”).

Final analyses in one line: “The final fight in the game has so much swag going on, that makes the action in Matrix movies look like crap".

My Final Score: 8/10
