My Audition for IGN Portugal

Here is my application video for IGN Portugal!

After finishing my degree in Journalism, this was my first attempt of applying for an official position in the area. I've been working as a Video Game Journalist for about two years and I can admit that it's become one of my greatest passions :D

I had so much fun recording these videos that I felt it was a waste not to share them. I hope you enjoy it and if you have any tips of where I can improve, feel free to share!

FaroWest | E-Sports Lounge (Tributo/Tribute)

PT: Para dar início à minha nova categoria do blog, “Gaming in Portugal”, eu tinha como objetivo fazer uma análise bastante positiva a um dos meus bares farenses favoritos e mostrar algumas das fotos que tirei durante dois dos seus eventos. O nome deste bar era FaroWest, um lounge de videojogos e E-Sports que chegou a tonar-se muito viral desde que o respetivo projeto tinha sido lançado.

Contudo, por motivos que desconheço ao certo, este bar foi encerrado muito recentemente, e por isso, em vez da análise inicial que tinha previsto, decidi que era melhor fazer um tributo em sua homenagem, de modo a perpetuá-lo para gerações futuras ou pessoas que nunca chegaram a saber sobre a existência do mesmo.

ENG: To begin my new blog category, “Gaming in Portugal”, I had the goal of doing a very positive analysis of one of my favourites bars from Faro and show some of the photos that I took during two of their events. The name of this bar was FaroWest, a lounge of videogames and E-Sports that existed in Faro and that became a lot viral since the respective project had been launched.

However, for reasons that I don’t know for certain, this establishment was closed quite recently, and because of that, instead of the initial analysis that I planned, I decided that it was best to do a tribute in its honour, to perpetuate it for future generations or to people that never managed to know about its existence.

Eng: In this publication, I will inform about something that I consider very important and that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. I decided to create a new category for my blog called, as the title suggests, “Gaming in Portugal”. Where, for the first time, I will finally start writing my publications also in Portuguese (my official language) and talk about my country’s gaming culture.

However, I will translate everything to English too, so that some of my previous viewers can understand all of it as well and perhaps learn a little bit more about Portugal.
